Number of Beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Cross One Crore

The number of beneficiaries of the Ayushman Bharat scheme officially crossed one crore on May 20, 2020. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his happiness for the same by posting a series of tweets. The Prime Minister claimed such a news will make every Indian proud as the number has crossed 1 crore. While appreciating the positive impact of the initiative on so many lives, he congratulated the beneficiaries. He further appreciated the efforts of doctors, nurses, healthcare staff, and others associated with this policy.

Prime Minister interacted with various beneficiaries during his tours. However, physical interaction is not possible in the wake of the current situation. Nonetheless, he had a telephonic interaction with Ms. Pooja Thapa from Meghalaya. She is the 1 Croreth beneficiary of the Ayushman Bharat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi listed several benefits of the scheme. The topmost is Profitability. Moreover, the beneficiaries of this scheme get access to top quality and affordable medical care. In effect, people living away from their homes will have an advantage. This scheme is a health insurance scheme to cater to the poor, lower section of the society and the vulnerable population. Furthermore, The scheme offers financial protection in case of hospitalization due to medical emergencies.
