Kerala HC Directs on Sightings of a Mysterious Figure At Night

Rajesh A Nair resident of Thrissur filed a petition before the Kerala High Court alleging sighting of a mysterious figure at night. It is alleged that some unidentified people were involved in unlawful activities and were keeping people away by using mysterious figures. The petition goes on to state that this had created panic, chaos and horror among the people. It began on March 25 and has been defeating the purpose of the lockdown since, the petition added.

The Kerala High Court directed police action over the sightings of a mysterious figure in Thrissur District at night. The Division Bench of Justices AK Jayasankaran Nambiar and Shaji P Chaly noted there were numerous cases of lockdown violation. The violations have been noted within territorial limits of three police station. Violators were pursuing the appearance of a mysterious figure. Further, some people moving around in the night and violating restrictive orders were also arrested.

The police have reportedly strengthened night patrolling apart from the investigation. The Bench also took on record the statement of police officers with regard to the investigation of previous complaints. However, the investigations didn’t provide any clue about the identity of the mysterious person. The Court has disposed of the petition and directed the concerned District Police Chief to investigate and pass orders on the complaint within two weeks.
