No Women Chief Justice appointed in SC

 

The Supreme Court Collegium has suggested the names of four High Court Chief Justices and a High Court Judge for the Supreme Court of India, as per the reports of Times of India. It is said that though there were certain names of women judges but they were not recommended for the list for the judges in the Supreme Court.
According to the report of Times Of India, the names of  Rajasthan High Court C.J. Naveen Sinha, Madras High Court C.J. Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Chhattisgarh High Court C.J. Dipak Gupta, Kerala High Court C.J. Mohan M Shantanagouder and Karnataka High Court’s Justice S.Abdul Nazeer have also been recommended by the Collegium head. This time no women judge has been recommended for the panel in the apex court. Though the names of two women Chief Justices (Delhi High Court C.J. Rohini and Bombay High Court C.J. Manjula Chellur) have been discussed, they could not find place in the current list  .
